Iron Will Raw is the latest company in Niagara to become a Certified Living Wage Employer.
The Niagara Poverty Reduction Network put the living wage at about $18/an hour in the Region. A living wage is different from the minimum wage, because it looks at the actual cost of living.
Iron Will Raw employs a dozen people and makes high quality raw dog food.
Niagara Centre MPP Jeff Burch is congratulating the St. Catharines-based company.
Burch says living wages increase worker productivity and decrease health care costs and social supports.
