The sport of kings is coming back to The Commons in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The corner of John and King streets used to serve as military training grounds where polo was played by cavalrymen in their spare time for hundreds of years. Niagara Polo and Toronto Polo Club players will take over the venue for the signature fundraiser for the Niagara Historical Society and Museum. The event will be complete with food vendors, entertainment, a silent auction and the traditional divot stomp. The divot stomp is where spectators are invited onto the field to help fix the ground torn up by the hooves of the horses. Players will take to the field on September 8.
