It was all to help support Women’s Place of South Niagara and the people it helps. The Seaway Mall in Welland saw 70 people come together on Saturday for a five kilometer walk to help end violence against women in Niagara. The fourth annual Walk Against Violence for Everyone raised over $20,000 to help support Nova House in Niagara Falls and Serenity Place in Welland. The money will go towards helping the shelters pay bills and staff as well as provide a support line that’s available 24/7. Vital services that also get promoted by the walk includes the shelters’ ability to provide a place of safety, counselling, legal support, housing support and more for survivors of violence and their children.
